CNY Events to End, Ring In the New Year

overlookGoodbye, 2015. Hello, 2016. Last week, we put out a list of 10 events that should be on your radar, and they can be found here. This week, there will be a couple more New Year’s-related events, some continuing holiday favorites and some continuing traditions. Of course, these are events to be shared with the company of others — friends, family and fellow community members you have yet to meet. With consideration to the global warming … err, um, unexpected and unseasonable weather, it’s an opportune time to enjoy it while it lasts.

Aurora Polar Bear Plunge

The annual plunge-into-the-new-year is once again taking place on the shores of Cayuga Lake. It get’s larger every year, so come celebrate CNY life and continue the tradition. Don’t Feed the Actors

Lights on the Lake

It’s the last weekend for Lights on the Lake. The two-mile-long light spectacular will most likely return next year, snow or no snow. New Year’s Run

Literally start the new year with a running start. The Syracuse Track Club is is holding its 38th Annual New Year’s Run, beginning at Spaghetti Warehouse. Following the race is a buffet of veggie lasagna, ziti, chili and more. It’s encouraged to sign up before the race, but bringing a paper registration form and payment the morning of will be accepted.
