POINTS OF REFERENCE is a music news blog for people with actual lives and/or short attention spans: a weekly selection of topical, pop music talking points fit for bars and break rooms. - Bonnaroo released its 2014 lineup which features festival foe Kanye West.
- Devo guitarist Bob Casale passed away. He was 61.
- Black Keys singer-guitarist/human cathedra Dan Auerbach is producing Lana Del Rey’s next album, apparently.
- NBC debuted The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Lady Gaga, Will Smith, Bono, and Bono’s sunglasses made appearances.
- 50 Cent departed Interscope Records.
- Real Estate wants us to play along to “Crime,” the fourth single off their new LP “Atlas” (Domino).
- Aberdeen, WA memorialized Kurt Cobain with a terrible statue.
