- Folk legend Pete Seeger passed away. He was 94.
- The Red Hot Chili Peppers performed unplugged at the Super Bowl. Viewer question: “How does he [RHCP guitarist Josh Klinghoffer] play guitar while convulsing?” He doesn’t, apparently.
- Bob Dylan sold his soul to Sergio Marchionne.
- Conor Oberst is recording a twangy LP in Nashville. Also, Robert Smith and some sundry troupe of somber, eyeliner-laden musicians are piecing together a new Cure album.
- Music documentaries are going to dominate SXSW Film.
- Toronto mayor and perpetually-impaired person Rob Ford has declared Feb. 6 “Bob Marley Day.”
