public art jurors will assemble in Syracuse to conduct interviews with the 16 semi-finalists they previously selected from a field of 276 applicants. Based on the RFQ, along with public outreach sessions, and terrific feedback from Syracuse New Times readers, the jury will be working off a scorecard to help them identify the best finalists.
In-depth video conference interviews will help make an assessment of final artists who will be invited to Syracuse to work with the community to develop final site-specific proposals. It’s been designed to be a creative collaborative process, and other communities are beginning to reach out to Syracuse to learn from it.
It’s also been a wonderful community conversation and we greatly appreciate your insight and input.
Here’s a copy of the scorecard. Tell us what other questions you’d like to see the jury ask the semi-finalists, and then check back in to learn which artists have been recommended as finalists.
