The annual Syracuse New Times Street Painting Festival is coming back for 2019! Now in its 29th year, the festival draws local artists downtown to create magnificent works of chalk art along the city sidewalks. Coinciding with the annual downtown Syracuse Arts and Crafts Festival, the day is a celebration of creation.
Pick a numbered section of the sidewalk on Montgomery Street and sign in at the New Times booth to begin. Chalk will be provided, but bringing your own is encouraged. The competitions are open to all skill and age levels. You can register for the contest online or the day of the event at a small additional charge.
