Traditionally, the men and women that used horses, mules and oxen to make over-the-road pickups and deliveries were called teamsters.
Syracuse New Times photographer Michael Davis attended the Draft Animal Practicum sponsored by GroundSwell (center for local food and farming in Ithaca, N.Y.) this past weekend at Northland Sheep Dairy, Marathon NY. Participants from Massachusetts, New Jersey and as far away as Mexico were in attendance.
