Khym comes to the Palace Theater

.
. . . . . .
While watching Khym’s music video for “Where You Are,” it’s funny to recognize scenery from Syracuse sliding into the frames. Familiar streets, bridge shots and local hotels all make appearances in the video from Keisha Glasgow, aka Khym.

The R&B singer/songwriter, originally from Barbados, recorded and mixed the album in Syracuse, where she currently resides. On Saturday, July 30, the soulful singer will celebrate the release of her album Believe in Me (Palm Tree Records) with a show at the Palace Theater, 2384 James St. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8. Tickets range from $20 to $40.

Her song “Where You Are” released in 2010, has already garnered international recognition in the UK, Japan, the Caribbean and in parts of the U.S.

The album evokes strong reminders of Mary J. Blige, Monica and tinges of Beyonce which come to mind right from the first track, “Understand.” The album’s themes focus on strength, overcoming obstacles and both the positive and negative sides of romantic relationships.
