Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz

The Oz favorites go way over the rainbow in this kiddie-oriented rearrangement of classic storytelling riffs that starts a fourperformance run this week at Cortland Repertory Theatre, 6799 Little York Lake Road, off Route 281, Preble. Visual gags devoted to recycling merge with pop culture nods to Lady Gaga, and even Toto isn’t quite the same in this version, which stars (pictured, from left) Shawn Smith as the Cowardly Lion, Jennifer Holcomb as Dorothy, Joseph DePietro as the Scarecrow and Evan Montgomery as the Tin Man. This week’s shows are on Thursday, July 14, and Saturday, July 16, 10 a.m., with additional performances on July 22 and July 23.
