Syracuse Soap Box Derby

Since its return in 2005 after a 35-year hiatus, this fun event for kids ages 8 to 17 has seen considerable growth in both sponsorships and contestant entries. And while you still have to enter to race (registration is $35), latecomers can even rent a buggy on race day (call 382-7629 for details). It’s free to watch the Soap Box Derby as the racers cruise down the 2100 block of South Geddes Street on Saturday, June 11, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For registration forms, visit www.syracusesoapboxderby.org.
