King of Trucks

Actually, the full title is the Regional International King of Trucks All-Trucks Super Show, but you get the idea. More than 2,000 big-wheel contraptions of all shapes and sizes will be on display from Friday, May 27, through Sunday, May 29, at the New York State Fairgrounds, with truck pulls and drags, mud pits, obstacle courses and more. Rob O’Connor, the mastermind at Right Coast Inc. who has brought the annual Syracuse Nationals car show to the fairgrounds for 12 years, is also spearheading this new venture, so expect lots of chrome, rubber and happy motorheads converging in the Salt City over the holiday weekend. Gates open at 8 a.m. each day and parking is free, although you have to gain access at Gate 6. Three-day tickets for adults are $30, with children ages 6 to 12 paying $15; one-day tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for children. For details, call 668-9703.
