During the last week of the 20th annual Lights on the Lake,
several of the popular costumed characters that have been greeting the
thousands of cars at the entrance since the show began will be on the
“loose” somewhere along the 2-mile Onondaga Lake Park trail.
Visitors who drive through the show Monday, Jan. 4, through Thursday,
Jan. 7, and spot a reindeer, moose, gingerbread man or penguin, in and
around the light displays, will be entered to win 2010-2011 Lights on
the Lake tickets. To be entered in the daily drawing, send an e-mail to
parks@ongov.net within 24 hours and include the date and nearest
display where you spotted the character as well as your name, address
and phone number. One winner from the correct entries will be picked
each night. As always, visitors should remain in their car and keep
moving throughout the show. Lights on the Lake in Onondaga Lake Park is
open from 5 to 10 p.m. through Sunday, Jan. 10. Admission is $8 per
