Darius Rucker

.
. . . . . .

The former Hootie and The Blowfish
singer was comfortable and competent singing country, not only
including his own hits, but also covering recent country songs charted
by Toby Keith and Jamey Johnson. His own material came across best as
he sang within himself, his smoky voice stretching from the high-energy
Hootie favorite “Let It Breathe,” before a very convincing rendition of
his country ballad, “It Won’t be Like This For Long.”

At one point, he dedicated the song
“Take My Cell Phone” to anyone who has a cell phone who drinks.
Unfortunately, rudeness has run rampant among Chevy Court crowds in
recent years and many in attendance not only own cell phones, they talk
on them during the concerts, making Rucker’s between-song chatting
difficult to hear for those not lucky enough to get a seat on the
benches.
