The Taste itself spans Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6. The Sammys show will be held on the festival’s main stage, somewhere near Clinton Square, on Friday from noon until 8 p.m. Previous Sammy-winning and Sammy-nominated bands play from noon to 6 p.m. The Action! performs at noon, Cluidan at 1 p.m., the Charley Orlando Band at 2 p.m., the Michael P. Ryan Band at 3 p.m., Gregg Yeti at 4 p.m. and Los Blancos at 5 p.m. Then the award show will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Stay tuned to the Syracuse New Times in the coming weeks for announcements regarding this year’s nominees and Hall of Famers.

Musicians who would like to submit CDs for consideration for the 2009 awards are out of luck; submissions were accepted through March 25. However, you can still vote for this year’s People’s Choice awards; just visit www.syracuseareamusic.com. Categories include: Best Band, Best Venue and Best Live Band.
