that morning), the fourth annual Tipperary Hill Shamrock Run, the first
in the Syrathon 2009 race series, was an unbridled success. The weather
could not have been more perfect, and the West Side neighborhood took
every advantage of its opportunity to shine. Fleet Feet and The New Times,
along with the Syracuse Department of Parks, Recreation and Youth
Programs, sponsor the series and announced the winners of prizes drawn
at random from runners who registered: Mary Jane Demott, free pair of
Brooks shoes; Elaine Kimpel, $50 Fleet Feet gift certificate; Mike
Bott, two tickets to Saturday’s Syracuse University-Johns Hopkins men’s
lacrosse game; David Duerr, $25 gift certificate to Syracuse Suds
