A Guy Thing

.
. . . . . .

Inspired by Southern blues legends like Mississippi John Hurt but raised in the urban setting of New York City, blues musician Guy Davis
is known for the great degree to which he speaks for black culture.
Currently on tour to push his ninth studio album, Davis will perform
during a Folkus Project concert at the May Memorial Unitarian Universalist Society, 3800 E. Genesee St., on Friday, Jan. 16, 8 p.m. Davis’ Sweetheart Like You
(Red House), named for the 1983 Bob Dylan song that Davis covered on his 2007 album On Air (Tradition and Moderne), will hit stores in February. Singer-songwriters Kim and Reggie Harris will also be on May Memorial’s musical menu. Concert tickets are $18. For more information, call 440-7444.
