Huddled around Apple IIe computers
during the 1980s and 1990s, young history and geography students were
captivated by Carmen Sandiego, a foxy but educational video game
villain. The game was a natural fit for a PBS kids game show, titled Where In the World Is Carmen Sandiego? The show’s theme song became such a hit that the a capella fivesome who performed it, Rockapella,
has been immortalized in the cultural lore of Generation Y. Rockapella
has performed on numerous prime-time television shows, and has since
released several live and studio albums. Relive your primary school
lifestyle when the group performs at Syracuse University’s Goldstein Auditorium in the Schine Student Center,
on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2 p.m. Tickets to the family-friendly show are $20
for the general public, $15 for SU staff and $5 for SU students. For
more information, call 443-4517.
