Chita Girl

.
. . . . . .

For the third annual Loretto Legends Concert Series, Tony Award-winning leggy legend Chita Rivera will shimmy and shake her groove thang on the stage of the Mulroy Civic Center’s Crouse-Hinds Theater, 411 Montgomery St., on Thursday, Sept. 18, 7:30 p.m. During her Secret of Life
showcase, the septuagenarian, who hasn’t lost the curves or a step
since her first Broadway appearance in 1952, will perform songs from
some of the most celebrated productions she has appeared in, including West Side Story, Chicago and Sweet Charity.
All proceeds will benefit the Loretto Foundation, which aims to improve
the quality of life for older adults in Central New York. Tickets for
patron seating, which includes admission to a private reception with
Rivera following the performance, costs $150. Orchestra, mezzanine and
balcony tickets cost $40 ($35 for students and seniors ages 65 and
older); a group rate of $25 per ticket is also available for purchases
of 10 or more. Call 435-2121 to order tickets, or 446-5538 for more
information about the Loretto Foundation.
