The works of acclaimed international artist Rodger Mack will be presented at the Stone Quarry Hill Art Park,
3883 Stone Quarry Road, Cazenovia, starting Saturday, July 26. Mack,
who passed away in 2002, was a Syracuse University studio arts program
professor whose works were exhibited around the world; Mack was last
featured at the gallery in spring 2001. In addition to 31 of his
paintings and sculptures on display, a poetry round robin will kick off
the celebration of the artist’s life at 1 p.m. A premiere showing of
producer Linda Herbert’s new documentary A Resonant Chord: Rodger Mack and the Creative Process will be held at 2:30 p.m., and a chamber music concert titled “An Artist’s Muse” will start at 3:30 p.m., with compositions by Marc Mellits and Ed Ruchalski, and presented by the Society for New Music
as part of the Cazenovia Counterpoint series. A reception for the
gallery opening will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. All events are free,
excluding the concert, for which a $15 donation is requested. The
exhibit runs through Sept. 28. For more information, call 655-3196.
