Pierogi A-Go-Go

If polka melodies from last year’s Polish Scholarship Festival
have finally dissipated from your mind’s skipping record player, you’re
probably about due for another run. The 54th annual edition rolls on at
downtown’s Clinton Square on Friday, June 20, 4 to 10 p.m.;
Saturday, June 21, noon to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, June 22, noon to 6 p.m.
Festivities will include a presentation of 10 scholarships to Polish
students, the selection of this year’s Miss Polonia, a doling-out of
the Pole of the Year award, and all sorts of cultural food and fun.
Musical performances will include Fritz’s Polka Band on Friday, Ashley Cox, Mickey Vendetti and the Goodtime Band, Shelly and the Barndogs and many others on Saturday, and the Figiel Brothers Band, Tatry Polish Folklore Ensemble and Anya on Sunday. Admission is free. For more information, call 687-1076 or visit www.polishscholarship.com.
